STORY SYNOPSIS:
Casper makes a mistake -- he wants to help his family in a time of crisis. His intention is right; his execution is wrong; jail is his new home.

MOMENTS and LEMONS colors Casper’s world of mishap.  Pepper is here to help Casper tell the story; she agrees to be everyone in Casper’s life; everyone who has impacted him -- his decisions.
Casper’s narrative spans eight decades.  From his straight-A teenage ambition to become a successful lawyer to a teenage inmate to ex-con then back into a society that he is not quite accustomed to.  En route, his path is spotted with misguided detours and poor calls of judgment.
Tony King plays Casper from his teen-years to his eighties.  Jessica Day plays everyone else -- seven characters.  No props, no set changes, no costume changes -- only story-telling --
MOMENTS and LEMONS is a drama of error and recovery.

Thom Fogarty’s direction and vision pulls the audience in -- everyone’s a part of
MOMENTS and LEMONS
!!!

A further detailed narration of his work and background can be found at http://www.tonydking.com/.

This current juncture with the gifted actress Jessica Day is one of many that spans several past productions with the American Theatre of Actors, the Hudson Shakespeare Company, and Theatre for the New City. This new play, Moments and Lemons, is a project that Tony takes great pride in being a part of and is excited to be working with talent such as director Thom Fogarty and writer
Fred Giacinto.

Much gratitude to Colleen for being an invaluable asset to the entire process.

ABOUT THOM FOGARTY:

Thom has been at "it" since 1973, performing with many of the downtown NYC scene-makers of the 80's and 90's, including Timothy Buckley, Kinematic, Ping Chong, Jane Comfort, Otrabanda, Alice Farley, Tamar Rogoff, Peter Anastos, Amy Sue Rosen, Yoshika Chuma, Mary Overlie, Gus Solomons Jr. and many others. He graduated with a BFA in Dance Performance and History from Ohio State University in 1977. He has created works with Joseph Chaikin (of The Living Theatre and founder of The Open Theatre), Paul Zimet (The Talking Band), the Judson Poets Theater, DV8 Physical Theatre and Harry Koutoukas, with whom he collaborated on DEAD AT SEA, an evening length performance based on Mr. Koutoukas' journal entries.

This infamous performance, was performed only one (in it's entirety) time at Dixon Place. Based on Mr. Koutoukas' traveling on an ocean liner to the optimum spot in the Pacific Ocean for the viewing of a solar eclipse. The piece was made all the more duplicitous and profound by the fact that Harry was visually impaired and awaiting cataract surgery, thus posing the question, "What did he really see?" He performed a segments forvarious events honoring Harry Koutoukas work over the last few years.

His own work, based in movement and told in an inherently theatrical style, has always dealt with the vastness of human conditions as told through the observance of small everyday gestures and their meanings. This shorthand movement vocabulary (consisting of traditional miming and gestures that are easily identifiable) allows Thom to be both profane and profound at the same time, constantly creating a duality acknowledging the yin and yang in daily life. His aim to simultaneously make one laugh while another is moved to tears. It is this quality that keeps him in demand for creating performances for memorials and hot button issues. He was one of the first responders to the AIDS crisis in the mid 1980's by creating works that dealt with the pandemic head on. He is thrilled to be moving toward dramatic stage work, as the years of coaching performances from others has led to wearing this new hat - as a 'director'. He wishes to mine the theatrical works of others to find the shorthand between the page and the audience.

His work has appeared at OSUDance, DTW, PS122, Jacob's Pillow, LaMaMa E.T.C., Dixon Place, Joyce Soho, Joe's Pub at the Public Theater, Judson Church, Duke University, and throughout Europe and the United States. He has taught dance and theater craft in Dusseldorf, Germany, and at Long Island University.

He directed the cabaret-styled one woman shows of Julie Kurnitz (CLINICAL TRIALS, based on her living with and eventual untimely death from Marfan Syndrome) and Isabelle Thiele (this past year at Dixon Place and The Duplex. He choreographed and performed in the 2007 and 2009 revivals of Judson's Al Carmine musicale CHRISTMAS RAPPINGS. He is currently collaborating with Anja Hitzenberger on a series of photographs chronicling his changing body and the city (www.anjahitzenberger.com) and Lulu Fogarty, on her solo performance piece of BEING HEARD: THE LILLIAN SMITH STORY (based on the influencial southern author of STRANGE FRUIT, HOW AM I TO BE HEARD?, and KILLERS OF THE DREAM)

Please feel free to 'friend' Thom on Facebook.
