Honey Fitz

A play in two acts
By Justin McDevitt
Honey Fitz is closing and only a handful of its remaining customers have even bothered to say goodbye: Bill and Charlene, divorced but reunited to settle family business; Patrick and Ginny, having one last nightcap before they marry in the morning; and Mick, the sardonic bartender with his own secrets kept tight in his pockets. Tomorrow, the demolition begins, but they find it impossible to leave the bar, and each other.
Justin McDevitt is a playwright and essayist originally from Massachusetts. He is thrilled to be returning to Theater for the New City to present a reading of Honey Fitz. His plays Tell Me How I Did, The True Martini, and Submission have been produced in New York City. In 2018 he launched the digital essay collection New York Bar Stories through his production company Cloudbusting. Justin is a graduate of New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, where he designed his own major, choosing to concentrate on the intersections of madness and depression in theater.
