SUNDAY DECEMBER 5th, 3 PM

$12 General – $10 Students/Seniors

You are invited to join the Gunplays series actors and writer/director William Electric Black for an afternoon to listen to selected audio scenes, meet with some of the actors and engage in a dialogue about gun violence with special guests from Guns Down Life Up and others.

“The Faculty Room,” written and directed by William Electric Black, is presented by Theater for the new City April 13-30, 2017. The faculty members of James Baldwin High School find themselves in a mandatory lock down because two star players on the girls’ basketball team have quarreled over a lover. This argument has escalated to armed conflict because of the prevalence of guns in the school. Three teachers and the school’s safety officer huddle together in the faculty room, awaiting the arrival of first responders. L-R: Kathryne Mills as the Safety Officer, Brittney Benson as the Basketball Coach, Levern Williams as the History Teacher. Photo by Jonathan Slaff.
