This showcase will feature a tribute performance by Shiyu Li and her close community of artists.
Shiyu Li has had a successful tenure within the states for a decade and has taken pride in establishing such artistic endeavors like her theatre company, “Five Elements”.
Since being in NYC for 5 years, Shiyu has made it her mission to produce original work over the years and to partner with upcoming artists while building a community here within the city. After she got back to NYC from the world traveling during the pandemic, she offered valuable vulnerability to the work and determined work ethic immediately. As a result of her experiences and sentiments, she made the decision to go back to her home,China. She said: “It’s time! It’s time to reconnect with my inner world, my family. ”
Before her departure, Shiyu is enthusiastic in giving this “farewell” performance. However she has stated, “This final performance is not the end of the amazing work that will continue within this established art community, it’s a continued opportunity that will inspire hope and determination. It will allow space to share art that drives the heart and all while creating wonderful memories together.”
The performance includes performances in various fields including but not limited to music, dance, musical theater, visual arts, etc… following the performance there will be a social gathering for networking opportunities.

All patrons must be vaccinated in order to see shows. Please provide proof of vaccination before picking up tickets.
Wearing of masks is suggested in the lobby, restrooms and performance spaces at Theater for the New City, but they are not required.
