My Country ‘tis of Thee contains 5 short comedies that try to fulfill the great playwright Clifford Odets’ dictum:

“The drama should shoot like bullets.”

Corwin’s plays, presented in this “emergency production” before the 2020 presidential election, comment on the chaotic situation in order to
“get out the vote”.

Theater for the New City gives special thanks to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation for its Quality of Life Grant in support of obtaining our Handi-lift Elevator. They helped greatly in the match for the grant from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA). A project that gives disabled and frail elderly patrons and artists accessibility to our lower-level theater and to a large part of our production facilities.
