As if I Care is a show in three parts about Elsie, a witty young woman who wants more out of her life and the people in it. Her loved ones are limited and seemingly unable to give her what she needs, but she also realizes that she can’t do everything on her own. It begs the question: what does it mean to ask for more as a young woman in the world today– especially one without a support system? How does she go about asking for more, even commanding it? And how does she heal from her trauma, move away from the past, and step into her power in the present? Although Elsie has been let down by most people in her life, she is steadfast to overcome that and find something better for herself.
