Set after World War II, “The Flowers of Forest Hills” follows a family who emigrates from Austria to Queens. We see three generations of women, including a girl, a mother and a grandmother (as part of a cast of seven characters) as they adapt to life in the United States. Family secrets come out into the open, as they cope with a new life in the United States.
