JOHNSON THEATER
One of the most iconic photographs of the 20th century taken during the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City, Mexico is forever etched into the American psyche. How were the lives of black American sprinters Tommie Smith, John Carlos along with Australian silver medalist Peter Norman irrevocably transformed when they took to the medal podium and made the black gloved fisted power salute? How and why were these college athletes, along with their wives, and the nation affected by their expulsion from the games? Would they become traitors to some, and heroes to others?
