The debut of From Scratch Performance Company, a company with a mission to tackle the ‘Three-Headed Monster’ – Theatre, Dance, & Music – in new and compelling ways.

The Non-Essentials will consist of a solo dance presentation, The Five Stages of Grief; and a one-act play, The Old Normal. Both works consider the effect of the pandemic on life in New York City.

Albena Kervanbashieva is the choreographer and performer of The Five Stages of Grief. Music is by Tim Horace and Stephen Cornine.

The Old Normal is written and directed by Robert Liebowitz, the Artistic Director of From Scratch Performance Company. Costumes are by Diana Adelman. Music is by Donald H. Sanborn III, performed by pianist Nishan Aghababian. The play will feature the acting talents of Monique Romero, Anuj Parikh, Izzy Durakovic, Martin Cohen, Bobby Austin, Madison Smith, Andrew Salmon, Zoey Lytle, Gina Coates, Michael Shapiro, Johnny Manhattan, and Durgy.

Part I, The Five Stages of Grief, runs about 30 minutes. Part II, The Old Normal, runs about 50 minutes.

COVID Protocol and Etiquette:
If not vaccinated, we require a negative Covid-19 test result taken within the past 3 to 5 days of arrival. The members of the audience will need a printed-out version of test results, or vaccine card, in hand in order to expedite prompt show openings.

Temperatures will be taken at the door. Masks and social distancing are always required.
